Camp Dilly – Grade 3 & 4

A camping trip for the children of grades 3 and 4 to Camp Dilly at Borsad Village was organized along with Anala Outdoors. After a joyful bus ride to the camp, the enthusiastic kids tried their hands at various adventure sports.

First in line was the thrilling zip line, the brave kids descended down the wire, some in high spirits and some fighting their fears. Up next was an excursion of the farms in tractors. The children imbibed the vastness and greenery of the fields and nature, something they miss out in the cities.

After some scrumptious lunch and rest it was time for some rain dance. The kids danced to some foot tapping beats of their favourite songs. Dinner and DJ dance was followed by bonfire and star gazing and just absorbing the sights and sounds of the night.

The next day the children experienced trekking through the ravines to a river. Then more adventure sports followed on the Plank Bridge, Swinging Planks, Parallel Bars, Commando Net Walk, etc. The two day trip granted the children time to enjoy nature as well as learn from it. Apart from imbibing knowledge about the place, the kids learnt to be social and independent too.

Udaipur – Grade 5 & 6

It has been rightly said that the heart of education lies in the learning which we gather from our own experiences. A child’s heart not only seeks knowledge but also craves for some learning experiences through fun and frolic. Keeping in mind the holistic development of our children the school organizes trips each year for the students to provide a better prospect in learning through life skills, experiences and excitement.

This year the students of grade 5 and 6 were taken to Udaipur for a rejuvenating break from their repetitive class room academics for some excursions and historic learning. The trip started on 20 October, 2019 at 5.30 in the morning from school. Breakfast was provided to the group in the bus. After a long but comfortable bus journey, the group reached Udaipur around 3.30 in the afternoon.

After a quick and wholesome meal, children were taken to Shilpgram (a handicraft setup), where they experienced various genres of art and painting, handmade jewellery, traditional dance and music. The students enjoyed their walk through Shilpgram where they learned and enjoyed the day. The first day ended with delicious dinner and smiling faces. The next day started early and the group was taken to the famous City Palace.

The various historical depictions were explained to the children. The day was followed by a visit to Maharana Pratap Smark and Sahelio Ki Badi. The students were exhilarated learning about the history of Udaipur and the monuments and palaces that showcased the vibrant culture and tradition of Udaipur that is cherished and celebrated by the people of Udaipur.

The second day ended on a very prosperous note and new found learning. On 22 October, after lunch, the group started from Udaipur to return home with fond memories to cherish forever.

Gir – Grade 7 & 8

According to Francis Bacon, 'travelling is a part and parcel of education.' Excursions provide solace and help the students form an escape route from the tedium of their nerve-wrecking hectic schedule. To provide the students their well-deserved break the school had planned a trip, for grade 7 & 8, to Sasan Gir on 16 th , 17 th and 18 th October 2019. The trip was organized by Positive 7.

The students departed from the schools at 5:45 am on 16 th morning. The panoramic view of the nature totally mesmerized the already enthusiastic and cheerful group. Their enthusiasm could be felt through their dancing and singing that continued through the journey leaving no stone unturned in enjoying to their fullest.

After a long yet fun filled journey, they reached their destination – 'The Gir Pride Resort' at around 5pm. After enjoying some lip smacking pasta, they left for their first adventure – the Chakda ride. The Chakda, which is a local mode of transport in Gir, was something new for the students and it rejuvenated and raised their spirits.

The students were taken to visit a crocodile park and they also got an opportunity to shop for souvenirs. The day ended on a fun note leaving the students waiting for the next day with new surprises for them.

Early next morning after some warm-up exercises and a delicious and healthy breakfast, the group left with anticipation and eagerness for a safari to the Devaliya Park to see the King of the jungle. The excitement of the children knew no bounds as they watched the different wild animals in their habitat.

Once back to the resort, the students were in for some more fun activities planned for them - The siddhi tribal dance and the folk dance of Gujarat. The students too joined in the merriment and danced on the tunes of the folk songs. Indeed a memorable day and a fun - filled evening.

Finally, the last day of the trip. As it is said, 'all good things do come to an end'. The journey back home where all were disheartened to leave but at the same time they were happy with all the wonderful memories to be cherished forever.

Kumbalgarh – Grade 9 to 11

The school had organized an educational as well as adventure trip for the students of gr 9, 10 and 11 to Kumbalgarh. The trip was organized in collaboration with Anala Outdoors. The Students received a warm welcome at the resort with a lively traditional Ghoomar dance presented by the local women.

A visit to the 'Kumbalgarh Fort' was one of those memories that will remain etched in each one’s heart. The awesome panoramic view and the splendid grand structure prove to be every bit worth to be listed as the ‘World Heritage Site’ by UNESCO. Later the students were taken for the ‘Light and Sound Show’ which in a phenomenal way introduced the audience to the history of the great monument. A mesmerizing day indeed.

Day 2 had more in store and the excitement knew no bounds. The students were taken to 'Haldighati', the historical place where the great battle of Haldighati was fought. History never seemed so interesting and wonderful.

Students were also taken for some shopping where they shopped for traditional goodies for themselves and their loved ones back home.

It is truly said "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
