Fathers' Day 2020

'A father holds his children’s hands for a while…..but their hearts forever'

A friend, playmate, protector, companion and mentor; fathers juggle several roles as they veer through various stages and phases in their child’s life. A father, with his rock solid unwavering support in all facets of life holds a special place in a child’s heart from infancy to adulthood and beyond. Fathers play a significant role in the emotional development of a child, as they complement the role of mothers in every situation. Anand Niketan Sughad recognizes the efforts that a father puts in to nurture his family and organizes a special 'Fathers’ Day' every year to celebrate the unique father-child bond.

Busy schedules, meetings and phone-calls, were all put on hold, as fathers perked up the school campus, with their enthusiastic spirit. The children reached out expectantly to their fathers with their loving eyes as they lit up the stage with their exuberant performances. A little smile, a piece of the moon, love, happiness and papa! This is the stuff that dreams are made of in a child’s life which was beautifully showcased on stage through soul stirring dances. While at office the staff dances to the tune of the boss, at school the bosses were dancing to the tunes of their children. It was endearing to see fathers step up in sync with their child and dance to the tunes of 'papa mere papa' and ‘tu jo mila’. The children taught their daddies some cool moves and got them grooving to the music.

The sprawling green campus of Anand Niketan Sughad resonated with cheers, laughter and squeals of delight as the fathers did some warm up exercises. All the daddies of the Pre primary section were made to play team building games like passing the ball, sky walk and three legged race. All the fathers had a great time playing the games specially planned for them and had a feeling of nostalgia. The children and daddies of grade 1 & 2 played musical chairs, hula hoop pass, red carpet walk and ball balance. The sporting fathers and the little champs played with complete zest and full abandon. They ran, jumped, hopped, skipped and frolicked together in nature’s lap. We are sure that they relived their childhood that day.

Time stood still as children presented their daddies with cards, handmade ties and 'best daddy' awards that encapsulated the love they felt for their father. The cool wintry ambience was infused with feelings of love and admiration as papas and bachhas exchanged hugs, special keepsakes and precious moments.

One could only imagine how much the world is made a better place again and again with warm, caring people lovingly called 'papa' by adoring children.
