Cleanliness Drive by ECO CLUB STUDENTS

‘Cleanliness is a mindset – a positive habit that keeps the body, mind and environment happy’

The students of the Eco Club at Anand Niketan Sughad, conducted a cleaning drive on the 5 th floor of the school building. In Indian culture, it has been repeated since ages that God and Goddess reside in a clean place and keeping this in mind, we decided to not only clean the school but also to teach our classmates the importance of cleaning and how to maintain cleanliness.

Furthermore, students from Grade 8 took responsibility to sweep the floor while the students of Grade 9 decided to wipe the floor. The senior students of Grade 10 took the initiative to clean the ceilings. Team work and unity was our mantra for the day as we went about cleaning, sweeping and swabbing. In the end, we felt an immense sense of achievement as we looked at our work with admiration in our eyes and pride in our hearts.

This activity taught everybody that all work is equally important. Many helpers in the school who constantly work hard to keep it clean deserve respect for their efforts to keep our school clean.

On behalf of all the students we want to thank everyone who was a part of this. Although we were apprehensive in the beginning we thoroughly enjoyed the cleanliness drive.
